Adullam is place of refuge
I work with clients whom— I believe—have the capacity to solve their own problems. As people become accepting of themselves, they are increasingly capable of finding purpose in their lives. However, to arrive at a balanced and fulfilling life, some clients need only a few sessions to achieve, while others may require months or even years of counseling.
I have an eclectic approach; I borrow from different styles of counseling such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I am trauma informed therapist and use Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Human beings belong to systems from the day they are born. As they continue to evolve into adulthood and beyond, they belong to different systems, i.e. marriage, families, sport teams. I also believe that people must live with a purpose—exploring meaning and value and learning to live authentically. Authentic living means being true to oneself and honest about one’s own possibilities and limitations, continually creating one’s own identity even in the face of deep uncertainty about the future. It means living deliberately.
